Our Products

We raise our pigs and chickens with the philosophy that they should be able to mimic and act on their natural tendencies.

Pasture Raised, Naturally Fed Pork

Changin’ Ways hogs are raised with the philosophy that hogs should be able to mimic and act on their natural tendencies.  In order to allow them to do this, we have established a paddock system that we rotate them on to allow access to a fresh ground on a regular and routine basis.  Additionally, we feed our hogs a large volume of natural product:  to include vegetable scraps from a local produce store and spent grains from a local brewery.  We understand that our system takes a bit longer to get the hogs to the processor, but we feel that it is only fair to the hogs, and produces a MUCH better final product, for you, our customers.  The extra time and effort required in our process are what makes all the difference in the product we get to you, and we take pride in that. We feel that all of this ensures healthy pigs and delicious pork products that you can feel great about feeding to you and your family.

Pasture Raised chickens

Changin’ Ways chickens are raised with the philosophy that chickens should be able to mimic and act on their natural tendencies. In order to allow them to do this, we have built what are called “chicken tractors” which are essentially a mobile chicken ground coop that we build on the farm. By keeping the coop mobile, it allows us to rotate the chickens around the pasture and allows the birds access to fresh grass and insects on a regular and routine basis. Additionally, we feed our chickens’ Non-GMO feed, which when combined with their pasture grazing produces a MUCH better final chicken product, for you, our customers.

incredible Pasture Raised Eggs

Changin’ Ways hens are raised with the philosophy that chickens should be able to mimic and act on their natural tendencies.  In order to allow them to do this, we have built what is called an “Egg Mobile”  which is essentially a mobile chicken coop built on an old boat trailer.  By keeping the coop mobile, it allows us to rotate the hens around the pasture and allows the ladies access to fresh grass and insects on a regular and routine basis.  Additionally, we feed our hens’ Non-GMO feed, which when combined with their pasture grazing produces a MUCH better final egg product, for you, our customers.

SPRING CSA

Spring CSA

Changin’ Ways Farm is excited to announce we will launch a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box for the Spring of 2024.

For those who may be unaware of what a CSA is, a CSA is a direct, food-share partnership between You and your Farmer (In this case, Farmer Dave). The Changin Ways CSA program gives you (our customer) the option to buy our pork, chicken, beef (Yes, its new) and eggs or vegetables at a discount price. The “share” you buy is custom tailored to your needs.

Choices with this Spring’s CSA:

Meat/Egg CSA: A share consists of a weekly box with a selection of pork, chicken, beef and eggs every week for 11 weeks; running from 13 April 2024 through 29 June 2024. The variety in the share changes weekly, as different meats are rotated throughout the fall. As you might notice, the program time is 12 weeks, one week will be an “Opt out/Optional” week in the event you are not available or don’t desire a share for the week. If you accept shares for the first 11 weeks, the opt out week will then fall on 29 June 2024.

Vegetable CSA: We are excited to announce that the Vegetable CSA will be available this Spring.

Note: For some returning Customers you might note that beef will be included in the is Springs CSA. Changin Ways farm has teamed up with B and B farm in Hampstead NC and will be retailing beef for them this year. B and B farm and Changin Ways farm have been working in cooperation with each other on various aspects of animal production for some time now. B and B farm has been the exclusive provider of weaned piglets for Changin Ways pork for the past few years.

We will be growing your food following organic practices and methods that improve soil health and biodiversity.

NOTE: While we understand that customized boxes seem easy, they are logistically difficult for us to fulfill on a weekly basis, so we have decided to stick to a “we choose” system.

Each package will be built based on what is available over the course of the Spring; we will provide a fantastic variety - you’ll never get stuck with a whole share of random chicken parts, or a large box of pig tails…  Ha Ha!

Our goal is to give you an exciting variety of products that you will thoroughly enjoy.

Your final share price will be determined by the choices you opt for.
